Introduction
In the early postoperative period, patients will experience a period of swelling and bruising, which is a normal physiological response. Swelling is most prominent during the first three days after double eyelid surgery, and noticeable bruising may appear around the eye area. In general, swelling significantly decreases about one week after surgery when stitches are removed, although mild bruising or yellowish discoloration may still remain under the skin around the eyes. Initial swelling usually subsides in approximately one month.

Generally, it takes 1 to 6 months to fully recover after a full-incision double eyelid surgery. This surgical procedure improves the eye's appearance by making incisions along the upper eyelid, adjusting underlying tissues, and suturing them into place. Recovery varies at different stages—such as one month, three months, and six months post-surgery. The specific recovery process is analyzed as follows:

In the early postoperative period, patients typically experience swelling and bruising, which are normal physiological responses. The first three days after surgery represent the peak period of swelling, during which noticeable bruising (bluish discoloration) may appear around the eye area. Generally, after suture removal around one week post-surgery, swelling significantly decreases; however, mild bruising or yellowish discoloration may still remain under the skin around the eyes. Initial swelling reduction usually takes about one month, at which point the eyes will have mostly settled into shape, although minor changes may continue afterward.

From three to six months after surgery: The surgical incisions go through a scar healing and proliferative phase, during which redness and firmness may occur. Internal tissues also undergo remodeling and repair. Over time, the scars gradually soften, their color fades to match the surrounding skin tone, and the double eyelid crease becomes increasingly natural in appearance.

Avoid consuming spicy, stimulating foods and alcohol during the first week after surgery, as these may interfere with the healing process.
