Introduction
Thickening and adhesion of the adjacent pleura are generally not severe; however, if the area of adhesion is extensive, the condition can be more serious. The specific analysis is as follows: Thickening and adhesion of the adjacent pleura are primarily caused by factors such as trauma or pleuritis. When the pleural region is invaded by external bacteria or attacked by inflammatory factors, local mucosal congestion and swelling occur, leading to protein exudation from the tissue, which in turn results in fibrous adhesions in the pleural area.

Thickened pleural adhesions nearby are generally not severe; however, if the area of adhesion is large, the condition tends to be more serious. Specific analysis is as follows:

1. Not severe

Nearby thickened pleural adhesions are mainly caused by factors such as trauma or pleurisy. When the pleura is invaded by external bacteria or attacked by inflammatory factors, local mucosal congestion and swelling occur, leading to protein exudation from tissues and subsequent fibrous adhesion in the pleural region. This is a common condition, usually mild, and often resolves spontaneously.

2. Severe

If the patient has extensive adhesion at the lesion site and fibrotic changes have already developed in the surrounding soft tissues, affecting normal contraction of the pleura, the condition is typically more serious. It may impair respiratory function, preventing normal expansion of the thoracic cavity during inhalation and causing symptoms of dyspnea. Patients are advised to seek medical care at a hospital, where surgical intervention can be performed to separate the adhered tissues.

It is recommended to maintain regular作息 (daily routines), avoid strenuous activities, and reduce physical strain. In terms of diet, consume more fresh fruits and vegetables to increase intake of dietary fiber and vitamins.
