Introduction
Urine cytomegalovirus (CMV) DNA positivity does not require treatment in the absence of obvious symptoms; however, treatment is necessary if symptoms develop. When patients exhibit symptoms caused by cytomegalovirus inclusion body infection, such as fever, lymphadenopathy, or splenomegaly, they may receive antiviral therapy under medical guidance using ganciclovir capsules or intravenous foscarnet sodium.

Generally, a positive urine cytomegalovirus (CMV) DNA test does not require treatment if there are no obvious symptoms. However, treatment becomes necessary if symptoms develop. The specific analysis is as follows:

1. No treatment required

A positive urine CMV DNA result, also known as cytomegalovirus infection, is usually caused by an infection affecting the urinary system, central nervous system, or liver. CMV antibodies are classified into IgM and IgG types. A positive IgM indicates a recent infection, which typically presents without significant clinical symptoms and generally does not require extensive intervention.

2. Treatment required

If a patient develops symptoms such as fever, swollen lymph nodes, or splenomegaly due to CMV infection, antiviral therapy may be initiated under a doctor's guidance using medications such as ganciclovir capsules or intravenous foscarnet sodium. If some patients develop liver function impairment, additional treatments for liver protection and bilirubin reduction are needed. In cases of pneumonia or encephalitis, prompt hospitalization and medical care are essential.

In daily life, protective measures should be taken to avoid exposure to infection sources, drink plenty of water, and actively cooperate with treatment to prevent more serious harm to the body.
