Introduction
Chestnuts can be consumed in moderation during blood sugar management. Chestnuts are rich in essential nutrients such as vitamins and minerals, which are necessary for the body's conversion of fat into energy. Additionally, the dietary fiber in chestnuts helps increase satiety. Therefore, moderate consumption of chestnuts will not negatively affect individuals managing their blood sugar levels.

Generally, chestnuts can be consumed in moderation during blood sugar control. However, individuals with significantly elevated blood glucose levels should avoid them. The specific analysis is as follows:

1. Can consume

Boiled chestnuts contain abundant vitamins, minerals, and other nutrients essential for converting body fat into energy. Additionally, the dietary fiber in chestnuts increases satiety. For people managing their blood sugar, moderate consumption typically does not have adverse effects.

2. Should not consume

Avoid candied or sugar-roasted chestnuts, as they contain high amounts of added sugar, which may destabilize blood glucose levels after consumption. Furthermore, individuals who are allergic to chestnuts should not eat them, as this may lead to symptoms such as rapid heart rate and edema.

During blood sugar management, it's advisable to consume more low-sugar, low-fat, and low-sodium foods—such as bitter gourd, cucumber, and black fungus—to help minimize blood glucose fluctuations. It's also important to reduce intake of fatty meats, cakes, and granulated sugar to prevent further elevation of blood sugar. If blood glucose levels cannot be controlled through diet alone, prompt medical evaluation is necessary. Follow a doctor’s guidance to use appropriate medications and prevent potential harm caused by persistently high blood sugar levels.
