Introduction
Cholelithiasis is a biliary system disease primarily characterized by the formation of stones in the gallbladder, which may be caused by a high-fat diet, medication use, or pregnancy. Even after surgery for gallstones—such as partial cholecystectomy or stone removal procedures—stones may still redevelop if the patient does not maintain proper dietary habits and lifestyle management.

Whether gallstones will recur after removal depends on the specific circumstances. If only part of the gallbladder is removed during surgery, there remains a possibility that stones may form again. However, if the entire gallbladder is removed, gallstones will not redevelop. The details are as follows:

1. Recurrence possible

Gallstones are a biliary system disorder primarily characterized by the formation of stones within the gallbladder, possibly caused by high-fat diets, certain medications, or pregnancy. In cases where patients undergo partial cholecystectomy or stone-removal procedures, and do not maintain proper dietary habits and lifestyle management afterward, gallstones may still develop again.

2. No recurrence

However, for some patients with more severe symptoms who undergo complete removal of the gallbladder (total cholecystectomy), as long as appropriate postoperative care is maintained and diet is strictly controlled, gallstone formation will not occur.

It is recommended to develop healthy daily habits, ensure adequate sleep, and, when physically able, engage in moderate outdoor physical activities such as walking or practicing tai chi to enhance the body's resistance to disease.
