Hymenoplasty procedure steps
Under normal circumstances, the hymen is a circular mucosal fold at the vaginal orifice, and the residual tissue after rupture is known as hymenal remnants. Hymenoplasty involves repairing these scar gaps that lack sensation and blood supply. The specific procedure is as follows:
1. Disinfect the external genital area and drape with sterile towels.
2. Perform local infiltration anesthesia.
3. Design mucosal flaps approximately 0.3 cm wide on both sides of the ruptured hymenal edges, one inner and one outer flap.
4. Carefully dissect the designed inner and outer mucosal flaps.
5. Suture the flaps together using absorbable sutures, leaving a small opening large enough to admit the little finger.
If surgery is required, it is recommended to perform the procedure under the guidance of a qualified physician to minimize surgical risks. After surgery, maintain cleanliness and dryness of the perineal area, and change into clean cotton underwear daily.
