Introduction
In general, open inguinal hernia surgery includes traditional hernia repair, tension-free hernia repair, and laparoscopic hernia repair. Taking laparoscopic hernia repair as an example, the specific procedure is as follows: 1. The patient is placed in the supine position and administered general anesthesia. A 1 cm trocar insertion site for abdominal exploration is made at the umbilicus, and two 5 mm laparoscopic working ports are placed at the lateral borders of the rectus abdominis muscles bilaterally.

Generally, open surgical treatment for inguinal hernia includes traditional hernia repair, tension-free hernia repair, and laparoscopic hernia repair. Taking laparoscopic hernia repair as an example, the specific procedural steps are as follows:

1. The patient is placed in a supine position and administered general anesthesia. A 1 cm trocar insertion site for abdominal exploration is made at the umbilicus, and two 5 mm laparoscopic working ports are placed at the lateral borders of the rectus abdominis muscles on both sides.

2. After entering the abdominal cavity, the peritoneum is incised approximately 2–3 cm above the internal ring.

3. The superior and inferior peritoneal flaps are dissected to access the preperitoneal space.

4. The preperitoneal space is further dissected, including separation of the bilateral spaces.

5. The indirect hernia sac is reduced from the inguinal canal back to the level of the internal ring. The vas deferens is dissected distally to about 6 cm below the internal ring.

6. A mesh prosthesis is properly positioned within the preperitoneal space and secured with sutures to prevent displacement.

7. The opened peritoneal defect is sutured closed. After confirming hemostasis at the surgical site, the trocars are removed and the procedure is completed.

This procedure requires specialized expertise. To avoid potential harm, it is recommended to undergo the surgery at a reputable hospital under the guidance of qualified surgeons. Postoperatively, adequate rest is advised, along with maintaining healthy lifestyle habits and a light diet, which can promote wound healing.
