Bleeding stopped after uterine evacuation, then resumed with lower abdominal pain
After a uterine evacuation procedure, if vaginal bleeding stops and then reoccurs along with lower abdominal pain, it may be caused by poor uterine involution, intrauterine infection, or retained tissue in the uterine cavity. Targeted treatment is required. Specific causes are analyzed as follows:
1. Poor Uterine Involution
If the uterus does not contract properly, physical activity after the procedure may cause the discharge of accumulated blood within the uterus, leading to the aforementioned symptoms. Under medical guidance, medications such as misoprostol tablets or rioprostil tablets may be prescribed.
2. Intrauterine Infection
If proper postoperative care is neglected after uterine evacuation, bacterial infection may occur, resulting in intrauterine infection. Stimulated by inflammatory factors, this condition can lead to recurrent bleeding and abdominal pain. Under a doctor's supervision, medications such as cefixime dispersible tablets or Baofukang suppositories may be used for treatment.
3. Retained Tissue in the Uterine Cavity
If the uterine evacuation was incomplete, residual tissue may cause persistent vaginal bleeding, resulting in these symptoms. It is recommended to seek prompt medical attention for a second evacuation procedure to prevent adverse effects on health.
In addition to the above, conditions such as hematometra (accumulation of blood in the uterine cavity), endometrial injury, or pelvic inflammatory disease may also cause similar symptoms. It is strongly advised to visit a hospital promptly for diagnosis and treatment.
