Introduction
In general, an elevated neutrophil count may be caused by physiological factors such as intense physical exercise, or by pathological conditions such as rheumatoid arthritis. After strenuous exercise, body temperature rises and excessive sweating occurs, leading to blood concentration and consequently increased neutrophil levels. This is a normal phenomenon and does not require specific treatment.

In general, an elevated neutrophil count may be caused by physiological factors such as intense physical exercise, or by pathological conditions such as rheumatoid arthritis. A detailed analysis is as follows:

1. Physiological Causes

After intense physical activity, body temperature rises and excessive sweating occurs, leading to blood concentration, which in turn causes an increase in neutrophils. This is a normal phenomenon and does not require special treatment.

2. Pathological Causes

1) Burns

Burn injuries may cause local tissue ischemia and necrosis, triggering a stress response in the body, resulting in increased neutrophil levels. Under medical guidance, patients can use medications such as moist burn ointment or burn and scald ointment for treatment, and should ensure adequate rest.

2) Rheumatoid Arthritis

A recent decline in immunity may lead to bacterial infection, causing both the total count and proportion of neutrophils to rise, often accompanied by joint swelling and pain. Patients should follow medical advice to use medications such as Qingpeng ointment or hydroxychloroquine sulfate tablets, and avoid excessive fatigue.

In addition to the common causes mentioned above, elevated neutrophils may also result from other conditions such as suppurative tonsillitis, meningitis, pneumonia, acute poisoning, or acute hemolytic anemia. It is recommended that patients seek timely medical evaluation and receive targeted treatment as directed by a physician.
