Imported hepatitis A vaccines are inactivated vaccines administered via intramuscular injection. For children and adolescents aged 1–18 years, the recommended dose per injection is 0.5 mL; for individuals aged 19 years and older, the dose is 1.0 mL. A second dose is required 6–12 months after the first.

1. Contact Transmission

2. Bloodborne Transmission

Transmission may occur via blood transfusion or intravenous infusion, typically in poorly regulated private clinics or small hospitals with substandard hygiene practices. In contrast, reputable hospitals maintain strict sterilization protocols and rigorous standards for infusion and transfusion equipment, making hepatitis A transmission extremely unlikely.

3. Sexual Transmission

Sexual contact is another significant route of hepatitis A transmission. The virus may be present in human bodily fluids—including saliva, semen, and vaginal secretions—so unprotected sexual contact with an infected individual carries a high risk of transmission.
