Itching under the rainy and humid weather
The term "below" usually refers to the genital area. Itching in the genital region on rainy, humid days may be caused by poor local hygiene, vulvar eczema, trichomoniasis vaginitis, or other reasons. This condition can be managed through general care measures and medications. Specific causes are analyzed as follows:
1. Poor Local Hygiene
If the external genital area is not properly cleaned, bacteria and dirt may accumulate around the genitals, leading to itching and discomfort. It's important to maintain good hygiene of the vulvar area and keep the region dry.
2. Vulvar Eczema
Vulvar eczema is a skin inflammation caused by irritation or allergic reactions. In damp conditions, bacteria and fungi can easily grow, irritating the vulvar skin and causing symptoms such as eczema and itching. Patients may use medications such as cetirizine hydrochloride tablets or calamine lotion under medical guidance to relieve symptoms.
3. Trichomoniasis Vaginitis
Trichomoniasis vaginitis is a vaginal infection caused by the parasite Trichomonas vaginalis. This single-celled parasite can be transmitted through sexual contact or other routes into the female reproductive tract. Infection commonly causes changes in vaginal discharge, making it yellow-green or grayish-white, accompanied by itching and a burning sensation. Patients may be treated with medications such as metronidazole vaginal effervescent tablets or tinidazole tablets under a doctor’s supervision.
In addition to the above causes, genital itching could also result from cervicitis, pelvic inflammatory disease, ovarian cysts, or other conditions. It is important to maintain good hygiene habits, change underwear frequently, avoid using excessive cleansers or soaps, and refrain from over-cleaning or irritating the vulvar skin. If symptoms worsen or persist for an extended period, prompt medical consultation at a hospital is recommended.
