Introduction
Hysteroscopy is generally required in cases of menstrual abnormalities, intrauterine adhesions, or abnormal uterine bleeding. In addition to these conditions, hysteroscopy can also be used to evaluate endometrial lesions, intrauterine lesions, or uterine malformations. Women are advised to maintain good external genital hygiene after undergoing hysteroscopy and to avoid resuming sexual intercourse too early.

Hysteroscopy is generally recommended in cases of abnormal menstruation, intrauterine adhesions, or abnormal uterine bleeding. The details are as follows:

1. Abnormal menstruation

Hysteroscopy is a minimally invasive procedure that allows detailed examination of any lesions within the uterine cavity. If a woman has recently experienced menstrual abnormalities such as menorrhagia (excessively heavy bleeding) or prolonged menstrual periods, a hysteroscopy may be necessary.

2. Intrauterine adhesions

After intrauterine adhesions occur, if a patient needs to determine the severity of the adhesions or undergo an adhesiolysis procedure, hysteroscopy is required to visualize and assess the internal condition of the uterine cavity.

3. Abnormal uterine bleeding

In cases of abnormal uterine bleeding with unknown causes, hysteroscopy is essential. It enables direct visualization of the uterine cavity to detect conditions such as endometrial polyps, submucosal fibroids, or endometrial thickening.

Besides the above conditions, hysteroscopy can also help diagnose endometrial lesions, intrauterine abnormalities, or uterine malformations. After undergoing hysteroscopy, women should maintain good hygiene of the external genitalia, avoid early resumption of sexual intercourse, and take precautions to prevent infection.
