Introduction
Itching around the scab after laser treatment for flat warts may be caused by non-pathological factors, or could result from pathological causes such as bacterial infection or allergic reactions; therefore, prompt medical evaluation and management are necessary. Besides the aforementioned reasons, possible causes may also include recurrence of flat warts, contact dermatitis, or insect bite dermatitis. In such cases, the specific cause should be clearly identified and appropriately treated accordingly.

Itching around the scab after laser treatment for flat warts may be caused by non-pathological factors, or it could result from pathological factors such as bacterial infection or allergic reactions. Prompt medical evaluation and management are recommended. Specific analysis is as follows:

I. Non-Pathological Factors

After laser treatment for flat warts, fibrous tissue in the wound may proliferate and scars gradually form, which can stimulate nerve endings around the wound and cause itching. This is a normal physiological response and generally does not require special treatment.

II. Pathological Factors

1. Bacterial Infection

Following laser treatment and scab formation, if the wound has not fully healed and becomes infected with bacteria due to certain reasons, inflammation may develop, leading to scar overgrowth and accompanying itching.

2. Allergic Reaction

After laser treatment and scab formation, routine disinfection is required. If an individual is allergic to certain antiseptics, using these agents may trigger an allergic reaction, resulting in itching. In such cases, switching to an alternative disinfectant under medical guidance is necessary.

In addition to the above causes, recurrent flat warts, contact dermatitis, or insect bite-induced dermatitis may also be responsible. The exact cause should be identified and appropriately managed accordingly.
