Introduction
The ankle, also known as the ankle joint, has several acupoints in front of it, including Jiexi (ST41), Qiuxu (GB40), and Shengmai (BL62). In addition to these acupoints, there are also Kunlun (BL60) and Taixi (KI3). Patients must undergo acupuncture treatment only under the guidance of a qualified physician. The Jiexi point is located in the ankle region, between the tendon of the extensor digitorum longus muscle and the tendon of the extensor hallucis longus muscle, in the central depression anterior to the ankle joint.

The ankle is also known as the "foot neck." Acupuncture points located in front of the ankle include the Jie Xi (ST41), Qiu Xu (GB40), and Shen Mai (BL62) points. Specific details are as follows:

1. Jie Xi Point (ST41)

The Jie Xi point is located in the ankle region, in the central depression anterior to the ankle joint, between the tendons of the extensor digitorum longus and the extensor hallucis longus muscles. It has effects such as clearing stomach heat, relaxing tendons, and promoting meridian circulation. Stimulating this point through massage or acupuncture can help improve symptoms such as lower limb weakness or paralysis, abdominal distension, and dizziness.

2. Qiu Xu Point (GB40)

The Qiu Xu point is located in the ankle region, anterior and inferior to the lateral malleolus, in the depression lateral to the tendon of the extensor digitorum longus muscle. It functions to relax tendons and promote circulation, regulate qi to relieve pain, and clear heat to improve vision. It may help alleviate symptoms such as redness and swelling of the eyes, neck and nuchal pain, chest and rib pain, and swelling or pain of the lateral ankle.

3. Shen Mai Point (BL62)

The Shen Mai point is located in the ankle region, directly below the tip of the lateral malleolus, in the depression between the lower border of the lateral malleolus and the calcaneus. It helps relax tendons, activate collaterals, calm the mind, and stabilize mental state. Stimulation of this point can assist in relieving dizziness, headache, insomnia, and soreness or pain in the lower back and legs.

In addition to the above points, other acupoints such as Kun Lun (BL60) and Tai Xi (KI3) are also located near the ankle. Patients should always receive acupuncture treatment under the guidance of a qualified medical professional.
