Introduction
Passing gas refers to flatulence. Bowel sounds (gurgling) and increased flatulence after moxibustion on the abdomen may be related to accelerated gastrointestinal motility, indigestion, or intestinal flora imbalance, which can be improved through follow-up evaluation and medication. Besides these common causes, it could also be associated with chronic gastritis, gastric ulcers, or duodenal ulcers.

Farting refers to gas expulsion. If the abdomen produces gurgling sounds and increased gas release after moxibustion, it may be related to accelerated gastrointestinal motility, indigestion, or intestinal flora imbalance. These symptoms can be improved through follow-up observation, medication, and other interventions. Specific analyses are as follows:

1. Accelerated Gastrointestinal Motility

Moxibustion promotes blood circulation in the body. After moxibustion, gastrointestinal motility may increase, leading to symptoms such as bloating, gas release, and abdominal pain. This is considered a normal physiological phenomenon. Close attention to bodily changes in daily life is sufficient, with care taken to prevent worsening discomfort.

2. Indigestion

After completing moxibustion, improper diet may cause food to fail to digest normally in the stomach, resulting in excessive gas production and symptoms such as flatulence, abdominal pain, and loss of appetite. Patients may take medications such as domperidone tablets or Jianwei Xiaoshi tablets under medical guidance.

3. Intestinal Flora Imbalance

Following moxibustion, if antibiotics are misused or cold/negative-temperature foods are consumed excessively, abnormal bacterial proliferation in the gut may occur, causing symptoms such as diarrhea, gas release, and abdominal pain. Patients may take medications like Bacillus subtilis bivalent live bacterial granules or Bifidobacterium trivalent live bacterial powder under a doctor's supervision to regulate intestinal flora.

Besides the common causes listed above, these symptoms could also be associated with chronic gastritis, gastric ulcers, or duodenal ulcers. If symptoms persist for an extended period after stopping moxibustion, patients should seek medical evaluation at a hospital to prevent disease progression.
