Introduction
If a patient inhales pollen or dust, or consumes foods prone to causing allergies in daily life, it may trigger an allergic reaction in the oral and pharyngeal areas, leading to thickening of the soft tissue on the right side, accompanied by symptoms such as difficulty breathing, rapid breathing, and coughing. The patient should cooperate with the doctor to take antiallergic medications orally, such as loratadine tablets or chlorpheniramine maleate tablets.

In general, soft tissue thickening in the right wall of the oropharynx may be related to allergic reactions, acute pharyngitis, acute tonsillitis, and other causes. Patients can receive treatment through oral medications, intravenous infusions, etc. Specific analyses are as follows:

1. Allergic Reaction

If patients inhale pollen or dust or consume foods prone to triggering allergies in daily life, it may lead to an allergic reaction in the oral and pharyngeal areas, resulting in soft tissue thickening on the right side, accompanied by symptoms such as difficulty breathing, rapid breathing, and coughing. Treatment should involve taking antiallergic medications such as loratadine tablets or chlorpheniramine maleate tablets under medical guidance.

2. Acute Pharyngitis

Acute pharyngitis refers to acute inflammatory lesions affecting the mucosa, submucosal tissues, and lymphoid tissues of the pharynx. It is mostly associated with viral or bacterial infections. Inflammatory irritation of the pharyngeal mucosa can cause local soft tissue thickening, along with symptoms such as sore throat, swelling, and a sensation of a foreign body in the throat. Treatment may include antibiotics such as levofloxacin hydrochloride capsules or penicillin V potassium tablets, prescribed by a physician.

3. Acute Tonsillitis

If upper respiratory tract infections are not promptly treated and controlled, they may lead to acute nonspecific inflammation of the palatine tonsils, causing soft tissue thickening in the oropharynx, fever, and throat pain. Patients may receive intravenous injections of cefuroxime sodium or penicillin sodium for injection according to medical advice.

Besides the common causes mentioned above, soft tissue thickening may also be related to conditions such as lymphadenitis, acute laryngitis, or tuberculous lymphadenopathy. If patients experience additional discomfort symptoms, they should visit a hospital for evaluation and receive targeted treatment accordingly.
