Introduction
Persistent twitching of the masseter muscle may be caused by circulatory disorders, temporomandibular joint arthritis, or trigeminal nerve dysfunction, and requires targeted treatment. Specific analysis is as follows: if local blood circulation is impaired, it may lead to insufficient blood supply, resulting in the aforementioned symptoms. If the condition is not severe, adequate rest is usually sufficient.

The masseter muscle continuously twitching may be caused by circulatory disorders, temporomandibular arthritis, trigeminal nerve dysfunction, or other conditions, requiring targeted treatment. Specific analyses are as follows:

1. Circulatory Disorders

If local blood circulation is impaired, it may lead to insufficient blood supply, resulting in the aforementioned symptoms. If the condition is not severe, adequate rest is usually sufficient; when necessary, applying heat compresses can help alleviate symptoms.

2. Temporomandibular Arthritis

If tissues in the temporomandibular area are injured, this condition may be triggered. In such cases, inflammatory factors can irritate the joint, leading to symptoms such as joint clicking and pain. It is recommended to take medications such as enteric-coated aspirin capsules or ibuprofen sustained-release tablets under a doctor's guidance.

3. Trigeminal Nerve Dysfunction

If the jaw area suffers trauma, it may result in trigeminal nerve dysfunction, causing such twitching. Treatment may include taking acyclovir capsules or methocobalamin tablets under medical supervision.

In addition to the above, similar symptoms may also be caused by facial spasms, facial neuritis, epilepsy, and other conditions. Immediate evaluation at a neurology department is advised.
