Introduction
Sinusitis without nasal congestion but with headache may be due to poor sinus drainage, or could be related to factors such as excessive fatigue and upper respiratory tract infections. It can be managed through daily care, oral medications, and other treatments. After the sinuses become inflamed, inflammatory secretions increase; when the sinus openings become blocked due to tissue swelling, ciliary clearance is impaired and drainage from the sinus openings is obstructed, which may result in no runny nose.

Sinusitis without nasal congestion but with headache may be due to poor sinus drainage, or may be related to factors such as excessive fatigue and upper respiratory tract infections. Treatment can include daily care and oral medications. Specific causes are analyzed as follows:

1. Poor Sinus Drainage

After sinus inflammation, inflammatory secretions increase. When the sinus openings become blocked due to tissue swelling, ciliary clearance function is impaired and sinus drainage is obstructed. This may not result in a runny nose, but can cause headaches. Treatment may include medications such as Tongqiao Biyan Granules or Lihua Sinusitis Tablets, used under medical guidance.

2. Excessive Fatigue

If one engages in heavy physical labor for prolonged periods, the brain's nerves may remain in an excited state for long durations without adequate rest, leading clinically to symptoms such as headache and dizziness. Symptoms can be relieved through proper rest and taking warm baths.

3. Upper Respiratory Tract Infection

When immunity is low, viral infection can irritate the upper respiratory tract, causing inflammatory infection. This may lead to symptoms including headache, fever, and cough. Under medical supervision, antiviral medications such as oseltamivir phosphate capsules or ribavirin tablets may be used for treatment.

In addition to the above relatively common causes, headaches may also be associated with migraine, tension-type headache, cervical spondylosis, and other conditions. It is important to seek timely medical evaluation and follow professional medical advice for appropriate diagnosis and treatment.
