Introduction
In general, abdominal bloating and discomfort may be caused by non-pathological factors, or by pathological conditions such as chronic gastritis and gastroparesis syndrome. It could also result from factors like gastric ulcers, gastroptosis (dropped stomach), or pyloric obstruction. Specific diagnosis requires medical evaluation and appropriate tests at a hospital, followed by treatment according to medical advice. Prompt medical attention is recommended to avoid delaying proper care.

Under normal circumstances, abdominal bloating and discomfort may be caused by non-pathological factors, or by pathological conditions such as chronic gastritis and gastroparesis syndrome. Patients should seek symptomatic treatment under the guidance of a physician. Specific analysis is as follows:

I. Non-pathological Factors

Overeating can lead to incomplete digestion, causing food to accumulate in the gastrointestinal tract and resulting in abdominal distension. Additionally, consuming large amounts of gas-producing foods—such as taro, sweet potatoes, and soybeans—can increase intestinal gas and cause bloating. In such cases, symptoms can be relieved through methods like abdominal massage and moderate physical activity to promote digestion.

II. Pathological Factors

1. Chronic Gastritis

In chronic gastritis, varying degrees of edema may occur in the gastric mucosa, slowing gastrointestinal motility. This causes food to remain in the stomach for prolonged periods, leading to bloating. Other associated symptoms may include upper-middle abdominal fullness, loss of appetite, acid reflux, and nausea. Under medical supervision, patients may take prokinetic agents such as domperidone tablets or mosapride citrate tablets to improve gastrointestinal motility and alleviate symptoms.

2. Gastroparesis Syndrome

In the absence of mechanical obstruction, delayed gastric emptying due to impaired gastric motility allows food to remain in the stomach for extended periods, where it ferments and produces excess gas. This increases intragastric pressure and leads to bloating. Patients with this condition should eat smaller, more frequent meals and follow a low-fat diet. Under a doctor's guidance, medications such as domperidone tablets or cisapride tablets may be prescribed for treatment.

Besides the above-mentioned common causes, bloating may also result from other conditions such as gastric ulcers, gastric ptosis, or pyloric obstruction. A proper diagnosis requires medical evaluation at a hospital. It is important to follow medical advice and seek timely treatment to avoid disease progression.
