Introduction
Numbness in the fingertips and tip of the tongue on the left side may be related to cervical spondylosis, lumbar disc herniation, hypertension, and other causes. Patients can improve symptoms through oral medications. Prolonged periods of looking down or working at a desk may lead to degenerative changes in the cervical spine, causing compression of surrounding nerves and blood vessels, thereby resulting in symptoms such as limb numbness, tongue numbness, dizziness, and headaches.
Under normal circumstances, numbness in the fingertips of the left hand and the tip of the tongue may be related to cervical spondylosis, lumbar disc herniation, hypertension, or other causes. Patients can improve symptoms through oral medications and other methods. Specific analyses are as follows:
1. Cervical Spondylosis
If patients frequently maintain a bent-neck posture or work at a desk for prolonged periods, it may lead to degenerative changes in the cervical spine, causing compression of surrounding nerves and blood vessels. 2. Lumbar Disc Herniation

3. Hypertension
Persistent high blood pressure exerts excessive force on blood vessel walls, impairing circulation. Poor peripheral blood flow can lead to oxygen deficiency in nerve tissues, causing symptoms such as extremity numbness, dizziness, vertigo, and general fatigue. Patients may take antihypertensive medications such as nifedipine tablets or enalapril maleate tablets as prescribed by a doctor.
In addition to the common causes listed above, similar symptoms may also be associated with myocarditis, atherosclerotic heart disease, stroke, or acute myocardial infarction.
