Procedure of posterior fornix puncture
Posterior colpotomy is performed to determine the nature of pelvic fluid accumulation in females. The specific procedure is as follows:
1. The patient is placed in the lithotomy position. The external genitalia and vagina are disinfected, and sterile drapes are applied.
2. A speculum is used to expose the cervix. The posterior lip of the cervix is grasped with a cervical clamp to fully expose the posterior fornix.
3. After re-disinfecting the posterior fornix, a 5ml syringe is inserted perpendicularly into the most prominent (bulging) area of the posterior fornix. Aspiration is performed by pulling back the plunger of the syringe to obtain fluid or inflammatory exudate from the pelvic cavity.
4. After completion of the puncture, the posterior fornix is disinfected again, the cervical clamp is removed, and the procedure is concluded.
Posterior colpotomy should be performed at a正规 medical facility by qualified healthcare professionals.
