Introduction
Benign paroxysmal positional vertigo (BPPV) causes brief episodes of dizziness in patients, which can often be relieved by the Epley maneuver. It is important to note that the Epley maneuver should be performed under the guidance of a doctor or trained professional to avoid causing physical injury. If you experience severe discomfort or persistent dizziness during the maneuver, stop immediately and inform your doctor.

Under normal circumstances, benign paroxysmal positional vertigo (BPPV) causes brief episodes of dizziness in patients, which can usually be treated using techniques such as the Epley maneuver or the liberatory maneuver. Taking the Epley maneuver as an example, the specific steps are as follows:

1. The patient sits upright with their head turned 45 degrees toward the affected side.

2. Quickly lie down so that the head slightly extends beyond the edge of the bed, remaining suspended, and hold this position for 30 seconds.

3. Rapidly rotate the body, turning the head to one side while looking toward the edge of the bed, and maintain this position for 30 seconds.

4. Slowly turn the body again, directing the head to the opposite side, and hold this position for approximately 30 seconds.

5. Sit up slowly and return the head to a neutral position. Repeat this procedure three times daily until dizziness has resolved for at least 24 consecutive hours.

It is important to note that the Epley maneuver should be performed under the guidance of a doctor or qualified professional to avoid causing physical injury. This process may provoke temporary dizziness and other discomforts. If severe discomfort or persistent dizziness occurs during the maneuver, stop immediately and inform your doctor. Avoid vigorous physical activity shortly after performing the maneuver.
