Introduction
TAPP (Transabdominal Preperitoneal Repair) is a surgical technique for laparoscopic inguinal hernia repair, with the full name being Transabdominal Preperitoneal Hernia Repair. This procedure requires specialized expertise; to avoid causing harm to the body, it is recommended to undergo the surgery at a qualified medical institution under the guidance of a skilled physician. After surgery, adequate rest is essential, and strenuous physical activity should be avoided. Additionally, proper wound care must be maintained to prevent infection.

Generally, laparoscopic inguinal hernia repair is a safe and technically sound tension-free repair procedure. TAPP (Transabdominal Preperitoneal) is one type of laparoscopic inguinal hernia repair, with the full name being transabdominal preperitoneal hernia repair. The specific procedural steps are as follows:

1. Position the patient supine, perform routine disinfection and draping of the abdomen, and administer anesthesia.

2. After anesthesia is complete, make a 1 cm incision at the upper edge of the umbilicus, insert a Veress needle for pneumoperitoneum, and introduce the laparoscope.

3. Make two 0.5 cm incisions along the lateral borders of the left and right rectus abdominis muscles at the level of the umbilicus, and insert surgical instruments through these incisions.

4. Under laparoscopic guidance, examine the entire abdominal cavity to assess the size and location of the inguinal hernia.

5. Incise the peritoneum 1–1.5 cm above the internal hernia ring, dissect the prevesical space and posterior inguinal space, and reduce the hernia sac.

6. Place a 10×15 cm mesh prosthesis in the preperitoneal space and secure it properly.

7. Close the peritoneum, withdraw the laparoscope and surgical instruments, and complete the procedure.

This procedure requires specialized expertise. To avoid potential harm to the body, it is recommended to undergo the surgery at a qualified medical institution under the guidance of experienced surgeons. Postoperatively, ensure adequate rest and avoid strenuous physical activity. Additionally, maintain proper wound care to prevent infection.
