Breech cesarean delivery fetal extraction technique
Breech presentation refers to an abnormal fetal position in which the fetus's buttocks are located in the lower segment of the uterus while the head is at the fundus. During cesarean section, traction techniques are commonly used, with the specific procedure as follows:
1. The pregnant woman enters the operating room and lies supine on the operating table. The anesthesiologist administers anesthesia, while the surgical team performs iodophor disinfection and draping.
2. After the anesthesia takes effect, the surgeon makes a 15–20 cm transverse incision at the dependent fold of the lower abdominal wall. The skin, subcutaneous tissue, rectus sheath, parietal peritoneum, and uterine muscle layer are sequentially incised until the uterus is reached.
3. The surgeon inserts a hand into the uterus and retrieves one leg of the fetus, followed by the other leg and the body.
4. When the shoulders emerge, the other hand is inserted into the uterus to guide the arms, while an assistant inserts a hand into the uterus to create sufficient space, preventing fetal asphyxia, and finally delivers the fetal head.
5. Once the fetus is completely delivered, the umbilical cord is doubly clamped and cut, and the placenta is gently removed.
6. The incision is sutured layer by layer, completing the surgery.
After surgery, it is important to stay relaxed and avoid excessive tension or anxiety. Maintain a light diet. It is recommended to seek care at a正规 medical institution and undergo the procedure under the guidance of qualified medical professionals.
