Zolpidem tartrate tablets are a novel imidazopyridine-class hypnotic drug, whose pharmacological effects primarily include sedation, sleep induction, anti-anxiety, anticonvulsant, and muscle relaxation. Compared with traditional benzodiazepine hypnotics, this drug has fewer side effects.

Zolpidem tartrate tablets are a new type of imidazopyridine hypnotic medication. Its pharmacological effects mainly include sedation, sleep induction, anti-anxiety, anticonvulsant, and muscle relaxation. Compared with traditional benzodiazepine sleep medications, this drug has fewer side effects, is less likely to cause respiratory depression, and has a lower risk of addiction or dependence. However, it is undeniable that the drug may still cause certain adverse reactions, such as edema, skin allergies, anaphylactic shock, headache, excitation, hallucinations, diplopia, and liver damage. Therefore, to minimize the occurrence of side effects, the drug is recommended only for patients over 18 years of age. The lowest effective dose should be used, and treatment duration should not be prolonged—typically 2–5 days or 2–3 weeks, and should not exceed 4 weeks at most.
