Introduction
In general, an elevated NIBP-mean may be associated with factors such as obesity, smoking, alcohol consumption, adrenal cortical hyperplasia, and tumors. The mechanism by which obesity leads to increased NIBP-mean is not fully understood. It is generally believed that obese individuals often consume excessive food and calories; surplus carbohydrates can stimulate sympathetic nervous system activity, resulting in elevated NIBP-mean.

In general, an elevated NIBP-mean may be associated with factors such as obesity, smoking, alcohol consumption, adrenal cortical hyperplasia, and tumors. Patients are advised to follow medical advice for symptomatic treatment. Specific analyses are as follows:

  1. Obesity

The mechanism by which obesity causes increased NIBP-mean is not fully understood. It is generally believed that obese individuals often consume excessive calories, and excess carbohydrate intake can stimulate sympathetic nervous system activity, leading to elevated NIBP-mean. Treatment may include medications such as hydrochlorothiazide tablets or furosemide tablets, taken as prescribed by a physician.

  2. Smoking

Tobacco contains nicotine, which increases catecholamine secretion, causing vasoconstriction and increased peripheral arterial resistance, thereby elevating NIBP-mean. Medications such as nifedipine sustained-release tablets or valsartan/amlodipine besylate tablets may be prescribed under medical guidance.

  3. Alcohol Consumption

After drinking alcohol, patients may experience heightened sympathetic nerve activity, resulting in enhanced myocardial contractility, accelerated cardiac conduction, and increased heart rate, all of which raise myocardial oxygen demand and contribute to elevated NIBP-mean. As directed by a physician, medications such as nimodipine tablets or hydrochlorothiazide tablets may be used for treatment.

  4. Adrenal Cortical Hyperplasia

Adrenal cortical hyperplasia itself does not typically cause hypertension; however, during treatment, many patients develop increased serum cortisol levels. The excess adrenal cortical hormones secreted may increase the risk of elevated NIBP-mean. Treatment may include amlodipine besylate tablets or benazepril hydrochloride tablets, as prescribed by a doctor.

  5. Tumors

If a patient has a tumor, the growth and spread of the tumor may increase the body's metabolic burden, potentially leading to elevated NIBP-mean. Under medical supervision, patients may take metoprolol tartrate sustained-release tablets, atenolol tablets, or gefitinib tablets for treatment.

If a patient experiences unexplained elevation in NIBP-mean, it is recommended to seek timely medical evaluation at a hospital to avoid delays in diagnosis and treatment.
