Introduction
In general, an intrauterine device (IUD) is inserted through the vaginal opening into the uterus, effectively preventing pregnancy. Before IUD insertion, the woman should empty her bladder, lie in the lithotomy position, and undergo routine disinfection of the external genitalia and vagina. A sterile drape is placed under the buttocks. A vaginal speculum is used to open the vagina and examine the size of the cervix. An appropriate IUD is then selected and loaded onto the insertion device.

Generally, an intrauterine device (IUD) is inserted through the vaginal opening into the uterus, effectively achieving contraception. The specific procedure is as follows:

1. Before IUD insertion, the woman should empty her bladder.

2. The woman is placed in the lithotomy position. The external genitalia and vagina are routinely disinfected, and a sterile drape is placed beneath the buttocks.

3. After sterilizing the surgical instruments, the doctor uses a vaginal speculum to open the vagina, then employs a cervical dilator to dilate the cervical os. The size and position of the uterine cavity are examined, and an appropriately sized IUD is selected based on the findings.

4. The selected IUD is loaded onto the inserter and gently advanced along the direction of the uterine cavity until it reaches the fundus. As the inserter passes through the internal cervical os, it is slightly flattened to align with the longitudinal axis of the uterine cavity, preventing the IUD from twisting inside the uterus. Once the IUD is positioned at the fundus, the inserter is withdrawn.

5. After placement, the surgical instruments are removed, completing the procedure.

If this procedure is needed, it is recommended to visit a正规 medical institution and have it performed under the guidance of a qualified physician to minimize risks.
