Soreness and pain in the right arm and shoulder
Shoulder and arm pain on the right side may be caused by overexertion, trauma, fasciitis, shoulder periarthritis (frozen shoulder), cervical spondylosis, or other conditions. It is recommended to seek treatment targeting the underlying cause.
1. Overexertion
Prolonged use of the right hand to lift heavy objects may lead to excessive fatigue, leaving the muscles of the right arm in a fatigued state and causing symptoms such as soreness and swelling. Usually, no special treatment is required. Patients should rest in bed and combine appropriate massage to gradually recover.
2. Trauma
The right arm or shoulder may have suffered an impact, resulting in local injury and symptoms such as soreness, swelling, and pain. Applying a cold compress with a cool towel to the affected area can help reduce swelling and relieve pain.
3. Fasciitis
Fasciitis may result from repeatedly performing the same motion over a long period, leading to microscopic tears and damage in the muscles and fascia. This causes chronic aseptic inflammation, resulting in discomfort such as limb numbness and soreness. Under medical guidance, medications such as roxithromycin dispersible tablets, cefuroxime axetil tablets, or azithromycin dispersible tablets may be used to promote resolution of inflammation.
4. Shoulder Periarthritis (Frozen Shoulder)
Chronic strain or changes in weather may increase stress on the shoulder and arm, leading to symptoms such as soreness and restricted movement. For mild cases, treatments such as manipulation or massage may be helpful, improving blood circulation and relieving pain. If pain is severe, medications such as ibuprofen sustained-release capsules, meloxicam capsules, or nimesulide capsules may be taken under medical supervision for pain relief.
5. Cervical Spondylosis
This condition is often related to degenerative changes in the cervical spine and prolonged neck flexion, affecting the health of the neck and shoulder areas and causing symptoms such as stiffness, pain, and numbness. Patients may take medications such as glucosamine sulfate tablets, chondroitin sulfate tablets, or glucosamine indomethacin enteric-coated tablets as directed by a physician, which can help increase bone density and support recovery of cervical spine function.
It is recommended to seek timely medical evaluation at a hospital, complete relevant examinations, identify the exact cause, and receive targeted treatment under professional guidance. Heavy physical labor should be avoided during treatment to prevent worsening of the condition.
