Introduction
Under normal circumstances, "Leba bone" refers to the ribs. Pain below the left rib may be caused by factors such as poor lifestyle habits, trauma, intercostal neuralgia, pancreatitis, or lung diseases. Consistently sleeping on one side over a long period can compress the rib area, leading to pain. Adjusting sleeping posture can help improve this condition, and massage may also provide relief.

Under normal circumstances, "Leba bone" refers to the ribs. Pain below the left rib may be caused by poor lifestyle habits, trauma, intercostal neuralgia, pancreatitis, lung diseases, and other factors. The specific analysis is as follows:

1. Poor lifestyle habits

If a person consistently sleeps on one side for a long period, the rib area may become compressed, leading to pain. Adjusting sleeping posture can help improve this condition, and massage may also provide relief.

2. Trauma

A strong impact to the local area may cause rupture of subcutaneous capillaries, resulting in pain and swelling. Pain can be managed under medical guidance with medications such as ibuprofen sustained-release capsules or diclofenac sodium sustained-release tablets.

3. Intercostal neuralgia

This may result from frequent heavy physical labor that irritates the nerves, typically manifesting as rib pain and a burning sensation. Treatment under medical supervision may include medications such as carbamazepine tablets or clonazepam tablets.

4. Pancreatitis

In cases of pancreatitis, there may be dull pain beneath the left rib, which can be severe. In addition to pain, symptoms such as fever, nausea, and vomiting may occur. Pancreatitis is a condition where the pancreas becomes inflamed due to self-digestion by pancreatic enzymes. Symptoms may include abdominal pain, bloating, nausea, vomiting, and fever. Patients should avoid consuming excessive greasy or spicy foods that stimulate pancreatic secretion and should moderately control their food intake.

5. Lung diseases

Lung diseases—including inflammation, tumors, tuberculosis, or injury of the left lung—can also cause pain beneath the left rib. If lung tissue infection leads to pleural involvement (dry pleurisy), symptoms such as fever and restricted breathing may accompany the pain. Systemic anti-inflammatory treatment is required; intravenous cephalosporins may be administered for 1–2 weeks. Under medical guidance, antiviral medications such as oseltamivir phosphate capsules or Siji Kangbingdu mixture may also be used.

Besides the above, pain below the left rib may also be caused by conditions such as coronary atherosclerotic heart disease or angina pectoris. It is recommended that patients seek timely medical attention if the pain is severe, to avoid delaying diagnosis and treatment.
