Introduction
In general, a high level of squamous epithelial cells in urine (300/μL) may be caused by normal physiological phenomena, urethritis, cystitis, pyelonephritis, bladder stones, or other reasons. Patients are advised to follow medical instructions for symptomatic treatment. Additionally, it could also be due to urothelial squamous cell tumors. If patients experience any discomfort, they should seek medical attention promptly to avoid delaying diagnosis and treatment.

Under normal circumstances, a high level of squamous epithelial cells in urine (300/μL) may be caused by normal physiological phenomena, urethritis, cystitis, pyelonephritis, bladder stones, or other reasons. Patients are advised to follow medical advice for symptomatic treatment. Specific analyses are as follows:

1. Normal phenomenon

Squamous epithelial cells mainly originate from the shedding of epithelial cells in areas such as the urethra, vagina, and uterus. If intense physical activity or excessive water intake occurs before the test, this phenomenon may appear. It is considered a normal physiological occurrence and does not require special treatment.

2. Urethritis

If patients do not maintain proper personal hygiene, bacterial infections may affect the urethra, leading to urethritis and subsequently causing the aforementioned finding. Patients can take medications such as levofloxacin hydrochloride capsules or amoxicillin capsules under medical guidance.

3. Cystitis

Infections of the bladder by pathogens such as Escherichia coli or staphylococci may lead to cystitis. Under inflammatory stimulation, this result may occur. Patients can take medications such as cefixime capsules or ciprofloxacin hydrochloride capsules as directed by a physician.

4. Pyelonephritis

Pyelonephritis can also cause shedding of squamous epithelial cells, resulting in this observation. Patients may use medications such as cefuroxime axetil tablets or Fushenning tablets according to medical advice.

5. Bladder stones

Long-term irritation from bladder stones can also lead to shedding of squamous epithelial cells, thereby producing this result. Patients should drink plenty of water, urinate frequently, and consume more fresh vegetables and fruits. Additionally, surgical treatments such as transurethral lithotripsy for bladder stones may be performed under medical guidance.

Besides the above, this finding could also be due to urothelial tumors of the urinary tract. Patients experiencing discomfort should seek timely medical evaluation and treatment to avoid disease progression.
