In general, gastric ESD refers to endoscopic submucosal dissection of the stomach, and bed rest for 1 to 2 days is required after the procedure. Clinically, gastric endoscopic submucosal dissection is primarily used to treat patients with precancerous lesions and early-stage cancers. If the procedure goes smoothly, and the patient has good overall health and strong recovery capacity, typically only 1–2 days of bed rest are needed postoperatively.

Generally, gastric ESD refers to endoscopic submucosal dissection of the stomach. After the procedure, patients are typically advised to remain in bed for 1–2 days; however, if the condition is severe, this may extend to 3–4 days. Endoscopic submucosal dissection (ESD) of the stomach is a minimally invasive technique that involves completely removing abnormal mucosal tissue from the submucosal layer under endoscopic guidance. Developed from endoscopic mucosal resection (EMR), gastric ESD is a newer endoscopic technique primarily used for treating early gastrointestinal cancers and precancerous lesions. Clinically, it is mainly applied in patients with precancerous conditions or early-stage cancer. After surgery, patients usually need to fast from both food and fluids and be observed for 1–2 days.

If the gastric ESD procedure goes smoothly and the patient is in good physical condition with strong recovery ability, bed rest for 1–2 days after surgery is generally sufficient. However, if the patient’s overall health is poor, a longer recovery period—such as 3–4 days—may be required. During recovery, patients should maintain a light diet and healthy sleep schedule to promote healing.

In terms of diet, it is recommended to consume foods rich in protein, vitamins, minerals, and other essential nutrients, such as eggs, lean meat, tomatoes, apples, etc., which help replenish energy and support overall health.
