Introduction
In general, isotretinoin soft capsules are taken for four months to half a year before discontinuation. It is recommended to strictly follow the doctor's instructions regarding the duration of medication; do not stop taking the drug arbitrarily, as this may affect treatment efficacy and recovery, and could potentially lead to worsening of the condition. During drug therapy, avoid oily, raw, cold, spicy, and other irritating foods, as these can hinder rapid recovery.

In general, isotretinoin soft capsules should be taken for 4 to 6 months before discontinuation. The details are as follows:

1. 4–5 months: Isotretinoin soft capsules can effectively reduce sebum secretion. For patients with mild conditions, the medication should be used under a doctor's guidance. Once closed comedones have improved, the medication may be discontinued. Do not stop taking the drug abruptly, as this may lead to symptom relapse and interfere with recovery. Typically, after 4–5 months of treatment, the medication can be gradually tapered off.

2. 5–6 months: Some individuals may have relatively poor physical conditions or slower drug absorption, requiring 5–6 months of treatment to achieve the desired effect. Therefore, they need to continue taking the medication for 5–6 months before stopping. A balanced diet should also be maintained during treatment, avoiding spicy or irritating foods.

It is recommended to strictly follow medical advice regarding the duration of medication use. Do not discontinue treatment blindly, as this could impair recovery and potentially worsen the condition. During drug therapy, avoid oily, raw, cold, and spicy foods, as these may hinder the body’s recovery process.
