What to do for hemorrhoid pain
Hemorrhoids refer to piles. In general, hemorrhoid pain can be managed through sitz baths, dietary adjustments, maintaining anal hygiene, avoiding prolonged sitting, and medication. Specific measures are as follows:
1. Sitz bath: Soaking in warm water can help relieve pain and itching caused by hemorrhoids. Sit in a bathtub filled with warm water so that the water covers the anal area for about 15–20 minutes per session. This helps relax the anal muscles and reduce discomfort.
2. Dietary changes: Increase intake of dietary fiber, consume more fruits and vegetables, drink plenty of water, and avoid spicy foods that may irritate hemorrhoids.
3. Maintain anal hygiene: Keep the anal area clean and dry, but avoid using coarse toilet paper or wet wipes to minimize irritation and pain.
4. Avoid prolonged sitting: Sitting for long periods may worsen hemorrhoid pain. Try to avoid extended sitting. If prolonged sitting is unavoidable, take regular breaks to stand and move around, or use a cushion to reduce pressure on the anal area.
5. Medication: If pain is severe, medications such as Guantai ointment, Yunnan Baiyao Hemorrhoid Ointment, or Ma Yinglong Musk Hemorrhoid Ointment may be used under medical guidance to alleviate symptoms.
If symptoms persist or become severe, prompt medical attention is recommended.
