Introduction
In general, the incidence of intestinal metaplasia in patients with chronic atrophic gastritis may be high or not, depending on individual circumstances. Patients are advised to receive symptomatic treatment as directed by their physician. Currently, the average incidence of intestinal metaplasia among individuals with chronic atrophic gastritis in the population reaches as high as 13.8%. With increasing age, the prevalence of intestinal metaplasia in these patients gradually rises, particularly doubling after the age of 41.

In general, the incidence of intestinal metaplasia in patients with chronic atrophic gastritis may be high or not necessarily high, depending on individual circumstances. Patients are advised to follow medical guidance for symptomatic treatment. Specific analysis is as follows:

1. High

Currently, the average incidence of intestinal metaplasia among individuals with chronic atrophic gastritis reaches as high as 13.8%. With increasing age, the prevalence of intestinal metaplasia in these patients gradually rises, particularly doubling after the age of 41. Intestinal metaplasia in patients with chronic atrophic gastritis is closely related to dietary habits; these patients often consume salted fish, pickled vegetables, seafood, and other high-salt foods.

2. Not high

The incidence of intestinal metaplasia is not high in some patients with chronic atrophic gastritis, because these individuals do not consume high-salt foods such as salted fish, pickled vegetables, or seafood, and their condition is still in the early stage of chronic atrophic gastritis. In such cases, the incidence of intestinal metaplasia remains low and does not require special treatment.

If patients experience any discomfort symptoms, they should promptly visit a hospital for evaluation to avoid delaying diagnosis and treatment.
