Introduction
In general, prostate thermal magnetic moxibustion refers to the prostate thermal magnetic moxibustion patch. This patch is primarily used for treating prostate-related conditions and is typically applied to two areas: the navel and the pubic region. It can also be applied to the Mingmen (GV4) acupoint, located between the spinous processes of the second and third lumbar vertebrae. The application process includes preparation, positioning, confirmation, the actual application, and necessary precautions.

Generally, prostate thermal magnetic moxibustion refers to the prostate thermal magnetic moxibustion patch. This patch is primarily used for treating prostate-related conditions and is typically applied to two areas: the navel (umbilicus) and the pubic region. It may also be applied to the Mingmen (GV4) acupoint, located between the spinous processes of the second and third lumbar vertebrae. The application process includes preparation, positioning, confirmation, application steps, and precautions.

1. Preparation

Prior to application, clean the application site with warm water and mild soap to remove dirt, oil, and sweat from the skin surface. After cleaning, gently dry the skin with a clean towel. Check that the packaging of the thermal magnetic moxibustion patch is intact and confirm the product has not expired. Also, inspect the patch for any damage, leakage, or defects.

2. Positioning

The Zhongji (CV3) acupoint is located in the lower abdomen on the anterior midline, 4 cun below the umbilicus. The Guanyuan (CV4) acupoint is also in the lower abdomen on the anterior midline, 3 cun below the umbilicus. These acupoints are considered to have a certain meridian-related connection with the prostate. Applying thermal magnetic stimulation to these points may provide supportive health benefits and auxiliary therapeutic effects for the prostate.

3. Confirmation

These acupoints can be located using simple anatomical landmarks—for example, identifying the navel and then measuring the appropriate distance downward. However, due to individual differences such as body type, weight, and build, slight adjustments may be necessary. If uncertain about the exact location, it is advisable to consult a licensed Traditional Chinese Medicine practitioner or healthcare professional.

4. Application Process

Carefully peel back part of the adhesive liner from the thermal magnetic moxibustion patch, taking care not to remove the entire liner at once, which could result in fingers touching the adhesive surface and reducing its stickiness. Align the center of the patch over the previously identified acupoint. Gently attach one end of the patch to the skin, then slowly apply the rest. Use your fingers to press gently from the center outward to ensure full contact between the patch and the skin, avoiding wrinkles or air bubbles.

5. Precautions

After application, closely monitor the skin's reaction. If signs of allergy or burns occur—such as redness, itching, pain, or blistering—immediately remove the patch and take appropriate measures, such as rinsing the area with clean water, applying burn ointment, or using antihistamine medication. Seek medical attention promptly if symptoms are severe.

It is recommended to use this therapy under the guidance of a qualified healthcare provider to avoid discomfort. Additionally, avoid application if there is any skin breakage, wound, or ulceration in the target area to prevent infection or worsening of symptoms.
