In general, patients with jaundice hepatitis may experience symptoms such as fatigue, darkened urine, loss of appetite, fever, and liver area pain. If a patient feels discomfort in the liver region, they should seek medical attention promptly for targeted treatment to avoid delaying the condition. Specific analyses are as follows:

1. Fatigue

Patients often experience significant and persistent fatigue, which differs from ordinary weakness. They may feel physically drained and lose interest in daily activities. Medications such as sofosbuvir tablets, tenofovir disoproxil fumarate tablets, and ursodeoxycholic acid capsules may be used under medical guidance.

2. Darkened Urine

Patients with jaundice hepatitis may also develop darker urine, along with yellowing of the sclera and skin. These symptoms typically peak within 1 to 3 weeks after onset. Some patients may additionally exhibit transient pale stools, skin itching, or bradycardia—signs associated with obstructive jaundice. Treatment may include glutathione tablets, entecavir capsules, or Chaihu Shugan pills as directed by a physician.

3. Loss of Appetite

Jaundice hepatitis can lead to reduced appetite, possibly due to liver damage impairing metabolic function and subsequently affecting the digestive system. Medications such as fluoxetine hydrochloride capsules, Anshen Bunaoye (a herbal tonic), and domperidone tablets may be prescribed under medical supervision.

4. Fever

Fever primarily results from viral infection damaging liver cells. As liver cells are destroyed, liver immune function declines, triggering an immune response that leads to jaundice, abnormal liver function, and fever. Medications such as ibuprofen tablets, acetaminophen tablets, and amoxicillin capsules may be used as directed by a doctor.

5. Liver Area Pain

Liver area pain is a typical symptom of jaundice hepatitis. It usually occurs in the later stages of the disease and is often severe, frequently accompanied by liver enlargement. Treatments may include polyene phosphatidylcholine capsules, dehydrocholic acid tablets, or vidarabine monophosphate for injection, as prescribed.

In daily life, patients should maintain a light diet, reduce intake of spicy, stimulating, and greasy foods—such as hot pot and barbecued items—engage in moderate exercise, and avoid excessive fatigue.
