Introduction
Dizziness and blacking out upon standing after squatting for a long time may be caused by insufficient sleep, orthostatic hypotension, anemia, hypoglycemia, cerebral infarction, etc. It is recommended to seek medical attention promptly and receive appropriate treatment once the underlying cause is identified. Prolonged熬夜 or poor sleep quality may lead to dysfunction of the brain's nervous system and affect cerebral blood supply, resulting in the aforementioned symptoms.

Generally, dizziness and darkening of vision upon standing after prolonged squatting may be caused by insufficient sleep, orthostatic hypotension, anemia, hypoglycemia, cerebral infarction, etc. It is recommended to seek medical attention promptly to determine the underlying cause and receive appropriate treatment. Specific analyses are as follows:

1. Insufficient Sleep

If one frequently stays up late or has poor sleep quality, it may lead to dysfunction of the brain's nervous system and affect cerebral blood supply, resulting in the aforementioned symptoms. Additional symptoms may include fatigue, difficulty concentrating, and memory decline. It is recommended to adjust sleep schedules, aim to go to bed before 11 p.m., practice early-to-bed and early-to-rise habits, and ensure sufficient sleep.

2. Orthostatic Hypotension

When standing up suddenly after prolonged squatting, due to gravity, venous return of blood from the lower limbs decreases, potentially causing insufficient blood supply to the brain, leading to dizziness and visual darkening. This may also be accompanied by unsteadiness, blurred vision, and other symptoms. It is advised to avoid sudden standing after long periods of squatting; instead, rise slowly.

3. Anemia

Poor diet may lead to anemia, which easily causes cerebral ischemia and hypoxia, resulting in dizziness and visual darkening during postural changes. Other symptoms may include pale complexion and palpitations. Treatment under a doctor’s guidance may include medications such as ferrous gluconate oral solution, vitamin C tablets, and ferrous sulfate tablets.

4. Hypoglycemia

Hypoglycemia is usually caused by genetic factors or fasting, leading to low blood glucose levels that fail to meet the brain’s energy demands, thus causing dizziness and visual darkening when standing up from a squat. Symptoms may also include palpitations, sweating, and hand tremors. Medications such as Ejiao Blood Tonic Granules, Shengmai Drink, and glucose-sodium chloride injection may be used as directed by a physician.

5. Cerebral Infarction

This condition is generally caused by blockage of blood vessels in the brain, leading to symptoms such as dizziness, limb numbness, and visual blackout. When standing up after prolonged squatting, changes in body position may further reduce cerebral blood flow and worsen symptoms. Under medical supervision, medications such as enteric-coated aspirin tablets, clopidogrel hydrogen sulfate tablets, and atorvastatin calcium tablets may be used for treatment.

Regular physical exercise such as running, swimming, jumping rope, and cycling is recommended to improve physical function and enhance resistance.
