Introduction
Knee soreness and pain may be caused by overexertion, synovitis, knee arthritis, osteoporosis, bone spurs, etc. It is recommended to seek medical attention promptly and receive appropriate treatment after identifying the underlying cause. Prolonged standing, walking, running, or jumping may lead to overuse of soft tissues around the knee joint, such as muscles, ligaments, and joint capsules, thereby causing knee soreness and pain.

The knee refers to the knee joint. In general, soreness and pain in the knee joint may be caused by overexertion, synovitis, knee arthritis, osteoporosis, bone spurs, and other conditions. It is recommended to seek medical attention promptly to determine the underlying cause and receive appropriate treatment. Specific analyses are as follows:

1. Overexertion

If one stands, walks, runs, or jumps for prolonged periods, the soft tissues surrounding the knee joint—such as muscles, ligaments, and joint capsule—may become overused, leading to soreness and pain in the knee. This may also be accompanied by symptoms such as muscle stiffness and swelling. Applying a hot water bottle or warm towel compress may help relieve discomfort.

2. Synovitis

This condition is usually caused by physical strain, which may irritate the synovial membrane of the knee joint, resulting in symptoms such as knee soreness, joint effusion (fluid accumulation), and limited mobility. Treatment under a doctor's guidance may include medications such as methylprednisolone tablets, ibuprofen capsules, or celecoxib capsules.

3. Knee Arthritis

Often caused by aging or excessive body weight, knee arthritis may lead to degenerative changes in the articular cartilage, causing symptoms such as knee soreness, stiffness, and discomfort. Medications such as sustained-release ibuprofen capsules, naproxen tablets, or indomethacin tablets may be used as directed by a physician.

4. Osteoporosis

Typically caused by hormonal imbalances or malnutrition, osteoporosis can result in thinner, more brittle bones, leading to the aforementioned symptoms. Additional symptoms may include fractures, reduced height, and kyphosis (hunched back). Treatment under medical supervision may involve medications such as zoledronic acid injection, calcium lactate tablets, or calcium carbonate D3 granules.

5. Bone Spurs

Usually caused by chronic strain or trauma, bone spurs may compress surrounding soft tissues, causing the symptoms described above, along with swelling, stiffness, and restricted movement. Under medical guidance, medications such as Guci Pills, Zhuanggu Guanjie Pills, or Guci Xiaotong Liquid may be used for treatment.

Maintaining healthy lifestyle habits is important in daily life—going to bed early and waking up early, aiming to fall asleep before 11 p.m. each night, avoiding staying up late, and ensuring sufficient sleep.
