Carotid artery plaque may present with no obvious symptoms, intermittent dizziness, blurred vision, unilateral limb weakness, slurred speech, and other manifestations. It is recommended to seek timely medical attention for professional evaluation and treatment. The analysis is as follows:

1. No obvious symptoms: In the early stages, many patients may not experience any symptoms, as the plaque develops gradually and has not yet severely obstructed blood flow.

2. Intermittent dizziness: When plaques in the carotid artery begin to affect blood flow, the brain may suffer from insufficient blood supply, leading to transient ischemic attacks (TIAs), which manifest as intermittent dizziness or vertigo.

3. Blurred vision: Carotid artery plaque can reduce blood supply to the eyes, causing temporary blurred vision or transient monocular blindness. Patients may suddenly experience a brief period of complete vision loss in one eye, followed by spontaneous recovery within seconds.

4. Unilateral limb weakness: Reduced cerebral blood flow due to carotid artery plaque may also cause weakness or numbness in limbs on one side of the body, which is another common symptom. These episodes are usually temporary, but frequent occurrences require immediate medical attention.

5. Slurred speech: Language centers in the brain require adequate blood supply to function properly. Insufficient cerebral perfusion may impair these areas, resulting in slurred speech or difficulty understanding language.

If carotid artery plaque is detected, patients should receive treatment under medical supervision using medications such as enteric-coated aspirin tablets, clopidogrel hydrogen sulfate tablets, and rosuvastatin calcium tablets. Additionally, patients should quit smoking and alcohol consumption, ensure adequate rest, and avoid chronic sleep deprivation.
