Introduction
Allergic rhinitis is a type of chronic rhinitis that is non-infectious, but currently there is no effective cure. The main symptoms include nasal congestion, watery nasal discharge, and sneezing. Symptoms can be relieved with antiallergic medications, commonly propylhexedrine tablets and cetirizine hydrochloride tablets, along with topical administration of fluticasone propionate nasal spray.

In general, whether allergic rhinitis is contagious depends on its cause and type. If discomfort occurs, it is recommended to seek medical attention promptly. The specific analysis is as follows:

1. Contagious

If a patient with allergic rhinitis is simultaneously infected with a respiratory virus, the infection caused by the virus may exacerbate symptoms of allergic rhinitis, such as nasal congestion and runny nose. Although allergic rhinitis itself is not contagious, the virus can spread to others, potentially causing them to develop similar symptoms due to viral infection.

2. Not contagious

Allergic rhinitis is an immune response triggered by allergens and is inherently non-contagious. Its pathogenesis differs from that of infectious diseases, primarily involving an over-sensitive immune reaction to certain substances in individuals, and it typically does not spread from person to person.

Patients with allergic rhinitis can, under medical guidance, use medications such as Tongqiao Biyan tablets, budesonide nasal spray, and Qianbai Biyan tablets for treatment. During peak cold or flu seasons, personal hygiene should be maintained to avoid cross-infection and reduce the risk of symptom exacerbation.
