Introduction
Biochemical pregnancy is a natural miscarriage process. Sexual intercourse is generally not recommended during this period to avoid increasing the risk of infection and negatively affecting endometrial recovery and sexual health. In addition, adequate rest should be taken, strenuous exercise avoided, a light diet maintained, and personal hygiene carefully observed to promote physical recovery.

Biochemical pregnancy refers to the situation in which sperm and egg have combined to form a fertilized egg, but the embryo fails to implant into the uterus, resulting in a spontaneous termination of pregnancy. Generally, sexual intercourse is not recommended during a biochemical pregnancy.

A biochemical pregnancy indicates an ongoing miscarriage, during which the body may exhibit symptoms such as vaginal bleeding, abdominal pain, and lower back soreness. At this time, the cervix may be dilated. Engaging in sexual intercourse could introduce pathogenic bacteria into the uterus, increasing the risk of infection. It may also affect the endometrium, leading to a reduction in endometrial thickness, which is detrimental to overall health. Additionally, having sex during this period might intensify physical discomfort and increase psychological stress, thereby negatively affecting sexual quality. Therefore, sexual activity is not advised during a biochemical pregnancy.

Moreover, after experiencing a biochemical pregnancy, adequate rest is essential. Strenuous activities such as running or jumping rope should be avoided in the short term. A balanced diet is also important; meals should be light yet nutritious before full recovery. Foods such as chicken, fish, eggs, and milk are good choices. Personal hygiene requires special attention—cleaning the genital area with warm water every morning and evening is recommended, along with frequent changing of underwear.

Although biochemical pregnancy is a form of natural miscarriage, regular monitoring is still necessary. If any discomfort occurs or if bleeding significantly increases, prompt medical attention is required. Psychological adjustment is also important to prevent excessive anxiety or emotional stress.
