Can underwear with yellowish discharge still be worn?
Under normal circumstances, it is not recommended to continue wearing underwear with yellowish discharge; it should be thoroughly cleaned before being worn again.
The yellowish discharge on underwear may be ordinary bodily secretion, but it could also indicate a gynecological inflammation such as vaginitis or cervicitis. These conditions can increase vaginal discharge, which may then remain on the underwear. If significant discharge is noticed when wearing underwear, it is advisable not to continue wearing it. Instead, remove the underwear and wash it thoroughly with warm water and soap, then sun-dry it before reuse. This helps eliminate residue and aids in killing bacteria, thereby reducing the risk of infection.
Normally, it is generally recommended to change and wash underwear once daily. However, under special circumstances, changing multiple times a day may be necessary, with immediate washing afterward to prevent bacterial growth from prolonged storage. To reduce discharge, maintain good sexual hygiene by gently rinsing the genital area with warm water before and after intercourse, then drying with a towel. Also pay attention to the choice and frequency of sanitary pad changes—opt for cotton pads and replace them every 1–2 hours to help lower the risk of gynecological infections.
If yellowish discharge persists on the underwear accompanied by an unusual odor, regular monitoring is advised, and prompt medical evaluation should be sought for accurate diagnosis and targeted treatment. Additionally, engaging in moderate exercise can help strengthen the body's immunity and reduce the likelihood of pathogen invasion.
