Introduction
When bacteria invade the thyroid and multiply extensively, they may cause thyroiditis. The resulting inflammation can destroy thyroid cells, leading to the release of excessive thyroid hormones and consequently elevated thyroid hormone levels. This condition is often accompanied by symptoms such as thyroid pain and fever. It is recommended to treat under medical supervision with medications such as aspirin extended-release tablets or ibuprofen extended-release capsules.

Under normal circumstances, elevated thyroid hormone levels may be caused by pregnancy, medication, thyroid adenoma, toxic diffuse goiter (Graves' disease), thyroiditis, or other reasons. If discomfort occurs, it is recommended to seek medical attention promptly. Specific analyses are as follows:

1. Pregnancy

In early pregnancy, human chorionic gonadotropin (hCG) may bind to TSH receptors, stimulating the thyroid gland to secrete excessive thyroid hormones, leading to elevated thyroid hormone levels. This may be accompanied by symptoms such as nausea and vomiting typical of pregnancy. In most cases, no specific treatment is required, and symptoms usually resolve spontaneously as pregnancy progresses.

2. Medication factors

Certain medications, such as amiodarone, may stimulate the thyroid to produce excess thyroid hormones, resulting in elevated thyroid hormone levels, along with symptoms like insomnia and excessive sweating. It is recommended to discontinue or switch the causative medication under a doctor's guidance.

5. Thyroid adenoma

Excessive iodine intake in daily diet may trigger thyroid adenoma. Since adenomas can autonomously secrete thyroid hormones, this may lead to elevated thyroid hormone levels. Symptoms often include difficulty breathing and coughing. It is recommended to follow medical advice and use medications such as levothyroxine sodium tablets, propylthiouracil tablets, or methylthiouracil tablets for treatment.

4. Toxic diffuse goiter (Graves' disease)

Abnormal immune system activity may induce toxic diffuse goiter, causing the thyroid to overproduce thyroid hormones, thus elevating thyroid hormone levels. Symptoms may include palpitations and hand tremors. Treatment under medical supervision may include methimazole tablets, propylthiouracil tablets, or levothyroxine sodium tablets.

3. Thyroiditis

When bacteria invade the thyroid and multiply extensively, thyroiditis may develop. The inflammatory process destroys thyroid cells, releasing excessive amounts of stored thyroid hormones into the bloodstream, thereby increasing thyroid hormone levels. Common symptoms include thyroid pain and fever. Treatment should be conducted under a doctor’s supervision using medications such as aspirin extended-release tablets, acetaminophen tablets, or ibuprofen extended-release capsules.

During treatment, consumption of spicy, raw, or cold foods should be avoided to prevent bodily discomfort and to support recovery.
