Introduction
Skin grafting surgery is generally divided into three types: autologous skin grafting, flap transplantation, and skin and soft tissue expansion. The corresponding costs are: autologous skin grafting, 3,000–50,000 yuan per session; flap transplantation, 5,000–50,000 yuan per session; and skin and soft tissue expansion, 8,000–50,000 yuan per session.

Skin grafting surgery is generally divided into three types: autologous skin grafting, flap transplantation, and skin soft tissue expansion. The corresponding costs are as follows: autologous skin grafting, 3,000–50,000 yuan per session; flap transplantation, 5,000–50,000 yuan per session; and skin soft tissue expansion, 8,000–50,000 yuan per session. Factors influencing the cost of skin grafting include the surgical site, hospital level, and regional differences.

Principle

Skin tissue is harvested from the patient’s own donor site, processed into skin grafts of varying thickness, and then transplanted to the recipient area.

The flap is transferred from the donor site to the recipient area, with blood supply maintained through vascular anastomosis or pedicle transfer to ensure flap survival.

A soft tissue expander is implanted beneath healthy skin adjacent to the defect. Saline solution is periodically injected into the expander to gradually stretch the skin, allowing coverage of large skin defects.

Indications

Suitable for skin defects caused by various conditions.

Suitable for repairing skin defects where critical underlying tissues or organs are exposed or at risk.

Suitable for reconstruction of large skin defects on the scalp, face, neck, and similar areas.

Recovery Period

Risks

1. Poor graft survival
2. Risk of infection

1. Impaired flap circulation
2. Flap necrosis

1. Skin necrosis
2. Expander rupture, leakage, or infection

Analysis of influencing factors:

1. Surgical Site: Skin grafting on the face tends to be more expensive due to higher aesthetic demands and greater surgical precision. Costs for grafting on limbs or the trunk vary depending on location and size of the defect.

2. Hospital Level: Skin grafting at general hospitals is relatively less expensive. In contrast, major hospitals typically charge more due to advanced equipment, specialized medical teams, and superior healthcare environments.

3. Regional Differences: In economically developed regions, skin grafting costs are generally higher due to elevated living expenses and limited availability of medical resources.

It is recommended to undergo skin grafting at a reputable medical facility, selecting the appropriate surgical method based on individual circumstances and physician recommendations. Patients should prepare mentally before surgery and optimize their physical condition. After surgery, maintain cleanliness of the grafted area and avoid pressure or infection. Closely monitor graft viability, and seek prompt medical attention if abnormal coloration, fluid discharge, or other complications occur.
