Introduction
Generally, impacted wisdom teeth can be removed using various methods, including flap surgery with incision, elevator extraction, bone removal, minimally invasive extraction, and turbine drilling. The corresponding costs are: flap surgery with incision, 800–1,000 yuan per tooth; elevator extraction, 300–800 yuan per tooth; bone removal, 300–800 yuan per tooth; minimally invasive extraction, 500–1,800 yuan per tooth.

Generally, wisdom tooth extraction methods include flap surgery, elevator technique, bone removal technique, minimally invasive extraction, and turbine drilling. The corresponding costs are: flap surgery, 800–1000 RMB per tooth; elevator technique, 300–800 RMB per tooth; bone removal technique, 300–800 RMB per tooth; minimally invasive extraction, 500–1800 RMB per tooth; and turbine drilling, 300–400 RMB per tooth. The cost of wisdom tooth extraction is influenced by factors such as the number of tooth roots, oral health condition, and regional differences.

Principle

An incision is made in the gingival mucosa, and the mucosal and submucosal tissue flaps are lifted. Instruments are used to extract the wisdom tooth, after which the flap is repositioned and sutured.

A dental elevator is inserted between the wisdom tooth and alveolar bone, using leverage to loosen and remove the tooth.

Tools such as chisels or turbine drills are used to remove part of the alveolar bone surrounding the tooth that obstructs extraction, fully exposing the tooth before removal.

Minimally invasive elevators precisely separate the connection between the wisdom tooth and the alveolar bone and periodontal ligament, followed by gentle rotation and traction with minimally invasive forceps to extract the tooth.

A high-speed rotating turbine drill is used to section the tooth into smaller pieces for easier removal.

Risks

1. Tooth displacement
2. Damage to dental nerves

1. Infection
2. Damage to adjacent teeth

1. Gingival swelling and redness
2. Loosening of adjacent teeth

1. Bleeding
2. Numbness of lips

1. Gingival laceration
2. Periodontitis

Factors Influencing Cost:

1. Number of Roots: Typically, wisdom teeth have two roots, making extraction easier and thus less expensive. However, some wisdom teeth may have more roots, increasing extraction difficulty and cost.

2. Oral Condition: The specific oral health status of the patient affects the price. If the patient has pre-existing oral diseases, additional treatments may be required, leading to higher overall costs.

3. Regional Differences: Differences in regional economic development lead to variations in extraction costs. Generally, first- and second-tier cities have higher prices than third- and fourth-tier cities, although they often offer better procedures and service levels.

It is recommended to visit a reputable hospital and choose the most suitable extraction method under professional medical guidance. After wisdom tooth extraction, avoid consuming cold, spicy, or irritating foods such as ice cream, Sichuan pepper, or chili peppers to promote proper healing.
