Introduction
Generally speaking, the ovulation period refers to the time when a woman's ovaries release an egg. In women of reproductive age with normal fertility, one mature egg is usually released by one of the ovaries each month. The time period during which the egg is released is known as the ovulation period, which typically occurs approximately 14 days before the next menstrual period begins. It is recommended that women pay extra attention to rest during the ovulation period, avoid excessive fatigue and strenuous exercise, and prevent abdominal discomfort or pain.

In women with normal fertility, one mature egg is usually released by one of the ovaries each month. The time period during which the egg is released is called the ovulation period, which typically occurs 14 days before the next menstrual period. The length of the menstrual cycle directly affects the timing of ovulation. Women with regular menstrual cycles tend to have relatively predictable ovulation periods, whereas women with irregular cycles may find it difficult to accurately predict their ovulation periods.

During the ovulation period, cervical mucus becomes thin, clear, and stretchy. This change facilitates easier passage of sperm through the cervix into the uterus to combine with the egg. If a couple is planning for pregnancy, understanding the ovulation period can help them schedule sexual intercourse to increase the chances of conception. Additionally, by calculating the ovulation period, it may be possible to some extent to avoid the fertile window and choose to have sexual intercourse during the "safe period," although pregnancy can still occur during this time. If pregnancy is not temporarily desired, it is recommended to use contraceptive methods such as condoms or birth control pills during both the ovulation period and the "safe period" to reduce the risk of unintended pregnancy.

Women are advised to rest more during the ovulation period, avoid excessive fatigue and strenuous exercise, and prevent abdominal discomfort or pain.
