Introduction
In general, the disappearance of finger lunulae may be caused by aging, malnutrition, excessive fatigue, anemia, hypothyroidism, or other factors. It can usually be restored through exercise, dietary adjustments, medication, and other treatments. It is recommended to avoid excessive manicures, nail-biting, or other behaviors that damage the nails in daily life to prevent affecting the growth of finger lunulae.

Generally, the disappearance of finger lunulae (the white half-moons at the base of the nails) may be caused by aging, malnutrition, excessive fatigue, anemia, hypothyroidism, or other factors. In most cases, they can be restored through exercise, dietary adjustments, or medical treatment.

1. Aging: As one ages, the body's metabolic rate gradually slows down, and so does the growth rate of fingernails. The lunula is the newly formed, incompletely keratinized portion of the nail. As nail growth slows, the lunula may become smaller, less visible, or even disappear. It is recommended to increase daily physical activity, such as walking or jogging, and to minimize prolonged sitting to help slow the decline in metabolism.

2. Malnutrition: Long-term dietary imbalances or deficiencies in essential nutrients can hinder nail growth, causing the lunula to shrink or disappear. It is recommended to adjust the diet by consuming more fresh vegetables and fruits to replenish vitamins.

3. Excessive fatigue: When the body remains in a state of prolonged exhaustion, large amounts of energy are consumed and nutrient distribution may be altered, potentially impairing normal nail growth and leading to the gradual disappearance of the lunula. It is recommended to adjust lifestyle habits, manage work and rest periods properly, and avoid overexertion.

4. Anemia: In cases of anemia, especially iron-deficiency anemia, oxygen delivery and nutrient transport in the body may be impaired. The nail bed cells may not receive sufficient oxygen and nutrients, which can affect normal nail growth and cause the lunula to disappear. It is recommended to take iron supplements such as ferrous gluconate tablets or ferrous sulfate tablets under medical supervision.

5. Hypothyroidism: When thyroid function is reduced and thyroid hormone secretion is insufficient, the body's metabolic rate significantly decreases, which can suppress lunula growth and lead to its gradual disappearance. It is recommended to take thyroid extract tablets or levothyroxine sodium tablets under medical guidance for treatment.

It is also advised to avoid excessive manicures or habits such as nail-biting, which can damage the nails and affect lunula formation.
