What dosage form is Huoxiang Zhengqi Shui?
Under normal circumstances, Huoxiang Zhengqi Shui (Huo Xiang Zheng Qi Shui) is a traditional Chinese medicine available in various formulations including capsules, tablets, and liquid. It is recommended to consult a qualified physician before use in order to avoid unnecessary physical harm. Detailed information is as follows:
Huoxiang Zhengqi Shui contains ingredients such as Atractylodes lancea, aged tangerine peel, Magnolia bark (processed with ginger), Angelica dahurica, Poria, and Areca peel. It has the functions of relieving exterior syndromes, resolving dampness, regulating qi, and harmonizing the middle jiao. It is commonly used to treat colds caused by external contraction of wind-cold, internal injury from dampness retention, or summerheat-dampness. Common symptoms include heavy and painful headache, chest and epigastric fullness and oppression, abdominal distention and pain, vomiting, and diarrhea.
It is not advisable to take tonic Chinese herbs concurrently during the course of treatment, as this may lead to ingredient interactions and affect drug efficacy. Smoking, alcohol consumption, and spicy, raw, cold, or greasy foods such as raw fish slices, fried chicken, and hotpot should be avoided during treatment. A bland diet is recommended, and foods such as congee and noodles may be consumed in moderation. Patients with severe chronic conditions such as hypertension, heart disease, diabetes, or kidney disease should take this medication only under the guidance of a physician to avoid self-medicating blindly, which could lead to unnecessary physical harm.
Huoxiang Zhengqi Shui contains a certain amount of ethanol; therefore, driving should be avoided after taking the medication. In daily life, maintaining a regular and healthy diet is important. Consumption of spicy and irritating foods such as Sichuan pepper, chili peppers, and onions should be avoided, as these are detrimental to health.
