How to Prevent Dengue Fever
Dengue fever is an acute infectious disease caused by the dengue virus and transmitted through mosquitoes of the Aedes genus. Prevention of dengue fever mainly focuses on two aspects: controlling mosquito breeding and reducing human-mosquito contact. Under normal circumstances, dengue can be prevented by eliminating standing water, improving the sanitary environment, wearing long-sleeved clothing and trousers, engaging in appropriate physical activity, and isolating patients. If discomfort occurs, timely medical consultation is recommended, followed by treatment under a doctor's guidance. The detailed prevention methods are as follows:

1. Eliminate standing water: Standing water provides a breeding ground for Aedes mosquitoes. Places such as flowerpot saucers, discarded tires, buckets, and roof depressions are ideal environments for mosquito breeding. Removing such standing water can reduce the number of Aedes mosquitoes, thereby lowering the risk of dengue transmission.
2. Improve the sanitary environment: Keeping living and working environments clean and reducing garbage can help eliminate mosquito breeding sites. A clean environment can reduce the breeding of Aedes mosquitoes, thus lowering the risk of dengue transmission.
3. Wear long-sleeved clothing and trousers: When going outdoors, wear long-sleeved clothing and trousers. These garments cover most of the skin, reducing the chance of mosquitoes contacting the skin, thereby lowering the risk of mosquito bites and dengue infection.
4. Engage in appropriate physical activity: Actively participate in outdoor activities, such as running, hiking, and rope jumping, to improve physical fitness and enhance immunity. The principle is that exercise promotes metabolism, improves physical resistance, and helps reduce the risk of infection.
5. Isolate patients: During the early stages of illness and for a period afterward, patients are infectious. Effective disease monitoring should be implemented to promptly identify and isolate suspected or confirmed cases to prevent the spread of the disease.
Particular attention to personal protection and health management should be given to susceptible populations, such as children, the elderly, pregnant women, and others with weaker immune systems.
