How to induce vomiting
Under normal circumstances, emesis can be induced by pressing the base of the tongue with fingers, using a tongue depressor or chopsticks, tapping the back, pressing the stomach area, drinking strong salt water, or using medications. Details are as follows:

1. Pressing the base of the tongue with fingers: Gently press the base of the tongue with fingers to stimulate the throat and induce the vomiting reflex. Once the throat is stimulated, the body will produce a natural vomiting response.
2. Using a tongue depressor or chopsticks: Use a tongue depressor or chopsticks to touch and stimulate areas such as the pharyngeal arches and posterior pharyngeal wall, which can similarly trigger the body's vomiting reflex. Similar to pressing the base of the tongue with fingers, this method induces vomiting by stimulating the throat.
3. Tapping the back or pressing the stomach: Use the palm to tap the area of the back corresponding to the stomach or press the lower part of the stomach area, helping induce vomiting by applying pressure and stimulating the stomach. Tapping or pressing the stomach can increase gastric pressure and stimulate the vomiting reflex.
4. Drinking strong salt water: Dissolve an appropriate amount of table salt in warm water and drink it all at once; the salt water may irritate the gastric mucosa and provoke a vomiting response. Strong salt water can stimulate the gastric mucosa, causing the gastrointestinal tract to secrete large amounts of gastric acid, thus inducing vomiting.
5. Using medications: Under a doctor's guidance, oral administration of medications such as ipecac syrup, zinc sulfate tablets, or sublingual apomorphine hydrochloride tablets can stimulate the vomiting reflex and aid in inducing vomiting. These medications can stimulate either the gastrointestinal tract or the chemoreceptor trigger zone in the medulla oblongata, activating the vomiting center and producing an emetic effect.
Inducing vomiting is not a healthy habit and may lead to serious health problems such as dehydration, electrolyte imbalance, and esophageal rupture. Therefore, unless absolutely necessary, it is not recommended to frequently use methods to induce vomiting. Before using any emetic method, it is important to consult a doctor to ensure your health and safety.
